Being a Force for SOCIAL GOOD via the Lend-a-Shoulder program is our commitment to driving volunteering at scale. Employees from across the Bank volunteer to spend their time in volunteering across the country with urban and rural low-income communities. From mentoring youth at a rural technical institute in Maharashtra on interview skills to training women from SHGs in topics like financial literacy – we enable volunteering on-ground and virtually for our employees based on their choices, interests and skills.

Ashish Singh, Head of Rural Banking led a Financial Literacy initiative under Lend-A-Shoulder. A dedicated force of 274 rural branches volunteered across India to educate rural communities around fraud, particularly catering to women and the elderly. This Menstrual Hygiene Day, our Lend-A-Shoulder volunteers in Mumbai participated in an activity organised in collaboration with the Society for Human and Environmental Development (S.H.E.D) to help enable safe menstrual practices among 43 adolescent girls and challenge taboos around menstruation.
