My journey with IDFC FIRST Bank started over 12 years ago when I was recruited  directly by our CHRO, Adrian Andrade into the erstwhile Capital First while pursuing  my  MBA from Dayalbagh  Educational Institute.

I joined IDFC FIRST Bank in 2019 as a Management Trainee, beginning my journey with an immersive induction program in Bangalore. That experience offered the clarity, structure, and exposure I needed to start my career with confidence and purpose. The early days helped me understand how different banking functions worked together, and they shaped the foundation for everything I went on to learn.

My initial roles in Branch banking and Product (Liabilities) helped me understand customer needs and operational realities while teaching me the importance of teamwork and discipline. These experiences showed me how various functions collaborate behind the scenes to deliver a seamless customer journey and shaped the way I approach cross functional work even today. One of the most transformative assignments during this phase was digitizing the current account onboarding process, which required moving from manual paperwork to a tab-based digital journey. Working on this project end to end deepened my interest in scalable digital experiences and ultimately guided me toward my passion for digital payments and product innovation.

In 2025, I transitioned into the Credit Card Product team, where I now work on the FIRST Digital RuPay Credit Card and UPI-linked initiatives. This role has given me the opportunity to shape solutions used in everyday payments, influencing how customers transact across the country. Working on these products requires a balance of innovation, compliance, and customer understanding, and I enjoy being part of a space that evolves so rapidly. The work is fast paced and deeply rewarding.

What excites me most about this role is the level of collaboration involved in every initiative related to campaigns, product feature enhancement, building new journey etc. Every enhancement is the outcome of coordinated effort between multiple teams (product, technology, design, analytics, marketing etc). Being part of these cross functional discussions has taught me how important it is to align customer needs with regulatory expectations and business goals. It has made me a more thoughtful and responsible product professional.

Working with external partners like NPCI and UPI ecosystem players has also expanded my understanding of the broader payments landscape. These collaborations challenge us to think beyond traditional banking and design experiences that are seamless, secure, and future ready. They also push us to innovate responsibly, ensuring that customer trust stays at the heart of every design decision. It is a space where learning never pauses.

Being part of digital payments motivates me because the work we do today shapes how millions of customers will transact.

Supportive leadership has played a significant role in helping me navigate this transition into the Credit Cards vertical. My managers so far, have always encouraged ownership and give me the freedom to experiment while also offering guidance on risk, ethics, and compliance. This combination of autonomy and direction ensures that product design remains responsible and customer first. It reinforces the culture of doing the right thing, even when it requires taking the longer route.
