I was drawn to IDFC FIRST Bank during my campus recruitment and the interesting roles presented seemed perfectly tailored to my aspirations. The responsibilities outlined for the position sparked a keen interest in me, and I knew that this was the place where I wanted to embark my professional journey. I joined as a Management Trainee in April 2023 and the last two years have been nothing short of transformative.

The most enriching aspect of my role is the sheer exposure it offers. As a Senior Specialist managing operational excellence and projects within the Wholesale Banking Operations vertical, my typical day is a blend of strategic and analytical tasks. I'm responsible for calculating key performance indicators across sub-verticals, managing budgeting aspects, and overseeing other critical processes. The Wholesale Banking Operations sector is vast, and each department is unique and I'm constantly learning and growing, getting to know each department closely.

Throughout my journey at the Bank, I've been fortunate to have role models who has profoundly influenced my professional journey. My manager has been more than just a supervisor; he's been a mentor to me. His approachability and guidance have been pivotal in my development.

In addition, there are various knowledge resources to enhance our skills at our own pace. Every month we receive a comprehensive learning calendar that outlines a variety of courses available to us. These courses cover a wide range of topics, and we have the flexibility to choose between in-house sessions, online sessions, and offline workshops. In just one year, I’ve attended more than three to four intensive sessions.

My aspiration for the near future is to delve deeper into the various aspects and departments of Wholesale Banking Operations. In the next five years, I envision taking on a project management role, leveraging the skills and knowledge which I’m acquiring now. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received thus far and I’m confident that the Bank will continue to back my ambitions as I progress in my career.
